Granite countertops, finally!

Going in tomorrow morning...

My question:  Are granite countertops durable enough to resist scratches from my favorite 10" stainless steel drywall knife/bench scraper? If not, I have a very sturdy 9" plastic scraper.

Use plastic. Enjoy!

For the pictured stone, I’d choose a plastic scraper.

Our countertop is labeled as granite but it’s more likely basalt or another stone.  I can, carefully, use a steel bench knife on it without causing scratches.  Real granite is more porous and has softer minerals than the stuff we have, making it more susceptible to damage.

Plastic it shall be.
